Job Summary: McGowan Environmental Engineering Ltd, an Aviemore based company which specialises in undertaking peatland restoration,
river restoration, forest road, estate track and path construction works in remote rural locations throughout Scotland.
Due to an increased workload we currently require a full-time Environmental Plant Operator to join our busy close-knit team.

Key Responsibilities:
- Operate plant machinery safely, in accordance with Industry Best Practice and training received.
- Undertake plant machinery operations on varying ground conditions and terrain safely, in accordance with machine and
operator own capability.
- Assist plant haulier during loading and unloading activities
- Adhere to Site Supervisor / Manager instructions
- Ensure plant machinery and operations adhere to Site Rules and No-Go zones
- Carry out daily machine maintenance and inspection. Reporting of any machine defects on the company reporting facility
- Completion of weekly timesheet.
- Report to your Line Manager or Site Supervisor of any accidents, incidents or Near Miss events immediately
Qualifications:
- Valid Certificates in relevant plant. (CPCS/NPORS or equivalent industry recognised standard) is essential
- Must have relevant experience of working plant machinery within a rural environment essential
- Previous experience in undertaking similar type works is highly desirable
- Valid full driving licence is essential (with trailer entitlement is preferred)
Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
- Must be reliable and a good timekeeper
- Must be highly motivated and able to work independently using own initiative, whilst working to ensure high quality of
finish.
- Able to work to a very high standard
- A willingness to working away from home during the working week when required
- Subsistence is provided with staffing
accommodation being organised by the company.
- Must be willing to work overtime and/or weekends when required to ensure company project programmes are met. Must be willing to attend company organised training courses, to ensure continued competence of staff and ultimately,
employee personal development.
