Job Summary:
Sitting within our BRUSH Transformers business unit , the Production Scheduler is responsible for supporting daily transformer production deliverables, monitoring key performance indicators and driving operational process improvements across the business. The Production Scheduler will assist the Production Scheduling Manager in ensuring the effective scheduling and planning of all manufacturing deliverables, leveraging information from all business functions.
Working closely with the Project Management team, the post holder will help develop, communicate, and maintain production schedules, identify critical path activities, and manage risks and opportunities to ensure projects are delivered on time, in full, and within budget. The post holder will also support the integrated operational scheduling process, fostering cross-functional collaboration and ensuring a balance between operational inputs and outputs to maintain production schedules and drive profitability.
In addition, the Production Scheduler will liaise with the Master Scheduler to support efficient project execution and in collaboration with relevant teams, contribute to capacity, production, and resource planning, performance tracking, and, where required, revenue forecasting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and administer the production schedule in line with best practices.
- Ensure schedules align with company objectives, production plans, and client requirements.
- Conduct ongoing production planning, output tracking, and performance monitoring.
- Assist with capacity, resource, and production planning in collaboration with relevant teams.
- Work with the Production Scheduling Manager and Project Management team to maintain the order book.
- Contribute to the maintenance of the Master Production Schedule.
- Monitor resource utilisation and recommend adjustments to optimise production performance.
- Develop and maintain production schedules, identifying critical paths, resource constraints, and potential bottlenecks.
- Identify and report schedule-related risks and opportunities.
- Update production timelines regularly and communicate deviations to stakeholders.
- Support Project Managers in developing mitigation and contingency plans for schedule challenges
Qualifications
- Formal Project Management qualification (desirable).
Experience & Skills:
- Proven experience as a project or production planner, with expertise in cost-based project planning and earned value management is essential
- Skilled at interpreting and communicating data clearly and effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills is essential
- Knowledge of cost control principles, including budgeting and financial analysis desirable
- Solid understanding of engineering, procurement, and manufacturing projects desirable.
- Proficiency in project management software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent is desirable
- Self-sufficient and resourceful.
- Confident in challenging others to drive improvements.
- Familiarity with transformer manufacturing processes (desirable).
