Framework Manager - ICP

Job Introduction

We are seeking a skilled and experienced HV Electrical ICP (Independent Connection Provider) Framework Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the implementation of high-voltage electrical frameworks in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation and execution of ICP projects, ensuring that all activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with technical specifications especially inline with the NERS (National Electricity Registration Scheme).

Role Responsibility

ICP Framework Management:

  • Lead and manage the development and maintenance of the ICP framework for high-voltage electrical distribution systems, ensuring it aligns with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve policies, procedures, and guidelines that govern the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of ICP electrical networks.
  • Ensure the framework is in compliance with relevant legislation, NERS, industry standards, and safety regulations.
  • Oversee the delivery of ICP projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Project Coordination & Delivery:

  • Manage the coordination and execution of high-voltage electrical projects, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned and objectives are met.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, contractors, and external suppliers to ensure the timely completion of HV electrical installations, upgrades, and maintenance.
  • Provide technical expertise in the planning and design stages of new electrical connections and network expansions.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Promote a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations for HV electrical projects.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational procedures.
  • Ensure all relevant safety protocols are integrated into the ICP framework and adhered to throughout all phases of project execution.

Stakeholder Management & Reporting:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders, including contractors, local authorities, regulators, and customers.
  • Maintain strong relationships with external parties, including utilities, network operators, and regulatory bodies, to ensure the effective operation of the ICP network.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on the progress of projects, compliance audits, and performance metrics to senior management.

Technical Support & Training:

  • Provide technical guidance and support to engineering teams, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and tools necessary for successful project delivery.
  • Develop and implement training programs for staff and contractors to ensure they are up-to-date with the latest HV electrical standards and regulations.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify areas for process improvement within the ICP framework and implement strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service quality.
  • Track industry trends and innovations in HV electrical technologies and incorporate relevant advancements into the framework.

The Ideal Candidate

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Energy, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in managing HV electrical distribution systems, preferably in an ICP environment or with utilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of HV electrical systems, network design, and regulatory requirements (e.g. NERS, IEC, ENA, Ofgem).
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and best practices, particularly in high-voltage environments.
  • Proven experience in managing and delivering large-scale projects in compliance with technical specifications and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience in working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the design and operation of Distribution Networks.
  • Knowledge of advanced HV technologies and automation systems.
  • Experience with stakeholder management in regulated environments.
  • Understanding of asset management and lifecycle strategies for HV systems.

Work Environment:

  • Home-based with regular site visits to project locations.
  • Occasional travel may be required to liaise with contractors and external partners.
