Field Service Winding Technician
Job Introduction

Role Responsibility
Duties: Perform ‘hands-on-tools’ electrical and winding repair services at customer worksites, for customers operating a wide range of original equipment, including generators, motors, and ancillary systems. Overhaul and clean large generators, including the necessary degree of mechanical strip down and rebuild. Perform electrical testing on high and low voltage windings in the field. Locate, diagnose, and repair winding faults. Carry out basic mechanical strip down (and rebuild) of machines to gain access for winding work and carry out winding repairs and partial/full rewinds on high and low voltage machine windings. Review and interpret machine performance data, instrument readings, and test values, specifications and technical requirements. Prepare method statements. Maintain records, submit daily progress reports, and prepare detailed reports for submission to project manager. Assist mechanical service engineer(s) on assignments. Attend technical meetings and functions as a liaison between the customer and company to help ensure the delivery of satisfactory services and promote further services.
Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma and completion of an accredited industry training program with a concentration in windings and high voltage components and 36 months of experience in the job offered.
Special Requirements: Must have a valid COATS Card, U.S. Driver’s License, and Passport.
