Electrical Design Engineer

Job Introduction

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Design Engineer to join our BRUSH Switchgear site based in South Wales, Blackwood. The successful candidate will support the growth and expansion of new and existing products from initial concept through to routine build. You will work with a team of engineers to develop the designs for new products and line extensions.

Role Responsibility

  • Develop and design new standards for new and existing products in line with ENA and customer specifications.
  • Develop and implement Engineering RoadMap projects.
  • Create new and review existing working practices to support the site CI initiatives.
  • Work with the engineering leadership team to develop best practices, efficiency improvement whilst supporting the growth and development of the technical section.
  • Liaise directly with manufacturing and quality team members on issues relating to drawings and BOM’s.
  • Assist engineers with initial design requirements and conceptualise plans and details to accurately convey fabrication requirements.
  • Provide engineering support and assistance to customers and internal departments.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have 5 year’s experience in a similar role within Switchgear design and demonstrate strong project management skills. You will also have a HND in an Engineering discipline and experience of 3D CAD drawings, preferably SoildWorks. To succeed in this role, you will be proficient in AutoCAD systems, preferably AutoCAD Electrical and have strong knowledge of electrical protection systems.
