Transformer Delivery Specialist

Job Introduction

Ensuring delivery of all BRUSH Transformer services offered within the portfolio of products, in support of installation, servicing, preventive maintenance, upgrades and product refurbishment.

Through personal delivery, and through the Service team, deliver customer excellence to existing clients, potential customers, and internal BRUSH operational staff.

Role Responsibility

  • Technical expert for the Transformer Service business
  • Drive the UK BRUSH Transformer Service strategy to include:
  • Project manage the delivery, installation, commissioning and service of the company’s products both in the UK and overseas.

Although this role is mainly focused on the transformer product line it will involve other aspects of the service business when required.

  • Carry out site visits to ascertain the mode of installation to meet project delivery targets.
  • Assess the sites to produce Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Environmental Plans.
  • Co-ordinate the allocation of service resources to meet the customers and companies needs.
  • Interpret specifications and technical requirements; prepare method statements and prepare detailed and concise reports for submission to customers, attending technical meetings on site and at customer’s premises as required.
  • Undergo training as necessary to aid Service Engineers when required.
  • Train customers’ personnel, and subcontractors in the safe operation of equipment and in diagnosis of faults.
  • Organise the utilisation of sub-contractors where company resources are inadequate to meet customer’s installation or commissioning requirements, ensuring that the sub-contractors work to the company’s procedures.
  • Maintain a high standard of discipline, timekeeping and attendance.
  • Liaising with existing customers and actively seeking new clients.
  • Develop customer relationships by anticipating customer requirements and making recommendations to exceed expectations.
  • Engages the customer and focus on future needs and challenges to support the customer and BRUSH Service.
  • Deliver excellent customer service on behalf of BRUSH to customers and be the ambassador for the Company with regards to Field Service Engineering, setting a key behavioral example for all employees to follow.
  • Working with key Service stakeholders to assist in developing competitive solutions for sales initiatives.
  • Ensure that Field Service and associated functions are utilising the latest techniques and processes associated with a modern engineering facility.
  • Champion continuous Improvement: lean techniques and philosophies to drive improvements within Field Service.
  • To support service engineers in a timely manner in order that jobs may progress in a professional manner.
  • Attending meetings both in-house and at site with the client as and when required.

The Ideal Candidate

Qualifications:

  • A Mechanical/Electrical Engineering qualification (HNC/HND).

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Computer literate with the ability to maintain accurate records.
  • A clear understanding of Microsoft systems and related software, especially Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
  • Strong influencing and persuasion skills with ability to influence and influence change management across the function.
  • Ability to work under difficult conditions and make difficult decisions to drive forward both the needs of the business and customers.
  • Highly developed organisational skills and ability to prioritise.
  • Pragmatic and task-orientated with the credibility to instigate, influence and implement change and thrive in a changing environment.
  • Analytical thinker: able to analyse issues and generate solutions to resolve problems, increase productivity, improve efficiency, and drive down costs.
  • Ability to think of the wider picture.
  • Self motivated and performance driven with the strength of character to make decisions independently of others as well as persuading and influencing skilled engineers.
  • Commercial awareness.

Experience:

  • Relevant experience in a similar role and industry.
  • Experience of working with transformers, tapchangers, energy network sectors is desirable.
  • Proven experience in managing complex and multi off - site projects.
  • A sound understanding of Health and Safety, and environmental legislation.
  • Proven track record in developing and maintaining highly effective working relationships cross culturally and across all nationalities.
