Tendering Engineer
Job Introduction
We are seeking a Tendering Engineer to join our Tendering Department at BRUSH based in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire. The successful candidate will efficiently process incoming enquiries from customers for BRUSH Generators, Services, and associated equipment. You will also develop and manage enquiries as well as acting as an ambassador with internal and external stakeholders to achieve sales and margin targets.
Role Responsibility
- Effectively identify and assess the requirements of incoming enquiries within the remit of the role and ensure appropriate action and feedback is given.
- Manage operational aspects of a technical and commercial tender, preparing documentation for handover to the projects team.
- Collate and evaluate the resource, material, third-party content, engineering, and production cost of tenders, ensuring appropriate approval and sign off has been obtained.
- Coordinate multiple business functions in both the UK and overseas to ensure deadlines are met, whilst ensuring an accurate, coherent proposal is submitted to the customer.
- Consult with internationally recognised bodies to confirm tenders comply with global and local laws and regulations pertaining to wellbeing, safety and security.
- Organise technical clarifications and discussions with clients.
- Provide input to post tender negotiations and contract variations.
- Develop, in association with Sales Manager, effective project campaign plans for targeted project opportunities, drawing upon internal and external resource in accordance with company policy on pricing and commercial conditions.
- Maintain existing and develop new customer relationships, working with Sales and Project Managers to assess customer satisfaction on all projects.
- Minimise company’s exposure to liabilities.
- Actively contribute towards continuous business and process improvement.
The Ideal Candidate
Qualifications:
- HNC in Business Management, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
Skills & Experience:
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to prioritise own workload and that of tender team where appropriate.
- Knowledge of estimating principles, techniques, practices and different types of cost estimates.
- Able to read and interpret technical drawings/ specifications and customer requirements.
- Commercially aware with a fair understanding of contractual conditions.
- Previous experience of working to tight deadlines without compromising on quality of proposal deliverables.
- Excellent time management and task prioritisation skills, consistently meeting deadlines, with the proficiency to handle a complex and challenging projects.
- Experienced in providing a first-class customer service.
- Experienced in utilising Lean Techniques.
