Technical Project Manager

Job Introduction

We are seeking a Technical Project Manager to join the Infrastructure Engineering team at Eta Projects Ltd.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management, planning, coordination and execution of infrastructure projects, from initial engagement right through to sign off and handover.

Role Responsibility

  • Project Delivery Technical Liaison with Principal Contactor and 3rd party specialist subcontractors, consultants and suppliers,
  • Liaise with site operational teams to allow all permits and isolations to be issued and actioned accordingly,
  • Attendee for Stakeholder Engagement Meetings through the Trust Project Manager,
  • Review contractor program and comment on technical elements,
  • Review and comment on Technical RAMS on behalf of client,
  • Attend and Chair appropriate Technical Meetings,
  • Technical review of below ground utility surveys,
  • Full Attendance at Critical Shutdowns Providing Technical Support,
  • Develop, Manage and sign off the Commissioning process,
  • Attend and sign off Witnessing all HV/LV Inter-tripping Systems,
  • Attend and sign off Witnessing all HV/LV Protection Systems,
  • Develop System Integration (New to Old),
  • Technical Risk Management and Control and Residual Risk register input,
  • Review completed as built and O&M manuals,
  • Sign off final hand over,
  • Attend initial project dispute resolution meeting for comment on technical matters

The Ideal Candidate

Qualifications

  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering based discipline
  • SMSTS
  • IOSH Managing Safely

Skills

  • Time Management
  • Financial understanding surrounding project budgets
  • Strategic thinker with strong co-ordination skills.
  • Ability to interpret complex requirements, identify any risks, and communicate effectively
  • Proficient in Project Management tools and software
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, leadership, and organisational skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to varying stakeholders.  
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Focused and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Adaptable to varying situations
  • Good IT Skills in Microsoft Office and MS Projects
  • Detail orientated with the ability to resolve problems.
  • Strong understanding of commercial terms and conditions and the impact it will have on project delivery
  • Good understanding of MF1, JCT and NEC contract formats is desirable but not essential as training can be provided.

Experience

  • 5 + Years experience managing critical infrastructure installations in line with CDM regulations
  • Experience working with MF1, JCT and NEC contract formats is desirable but not essential as training can be provided.
  • Experience managing project finances and financial reporting is desirable but not essential as training can be provided.
