Site Test Technician

Job Introduction

BRUSH is searching for Site Test Technicians covering Scotland and the North of England. Ideally situated in the greater central belt of Scotland, the successful candidates will undertake mechanical and electrical maintenance and installation of BRUSH products throughout the UK, (predominantly in the northern regions) ensuring that equipment is repaired, maintained or installed as per applicable regulations and specifications. The role requires the Site Test Technician to work on new and heritage BRUSH  products, taking the lead role when dealing with clients.

Role Responsibility

  • Taking the lead role at site for BRUSH and liaising with our customers, when required.
  • Undertake all the Electrical and Mechanical duties involved with maintenance, repairs and Installation of BRUSH products.
  • Carry out investigations at site relating to quality or product defects.
  • Holding safety documents to allow BRUSH Engineers undertake work on isolated and earthed equipment.
  • Undertake HV pressure testing.
  • Advising clients with related technical issues.
  • Providing comprehensive reports of technical issues encountered whilst carrying out on-site duties.
  • Carrying out SF6 Gassing works
  • Reading, interpreting and understanding BRUSH Engineering Drawings
  • Supervising other members of the team and training them at site as required

 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven Track record of working on DNO HV Systems/ Substations
  • Extensive Experience on a diverse range of MV/HV switchgear and transformers
  • Good knowledge of structure and assembly of the company’s existing product range, particularly Eclipse, Quantum and Heritage for example
  • A good understanding of basic Mechanical and Electrical principles
  • An understanding of the Installation and testing requirements of switchgear standards.
  • Strong understanding of safety, health and environmental legislation, especially relating to Electricity and Substation environments
  • Self-motivated with positive attitude to meet deadlines and work schedules.
  • Well-developed planning skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Problem solver with a methodical approach and an eye for detail

Confidence in liaising with and advising clients.

  • Willingness to work away from home as required.
