Production Technician

Job Introduction

We are looking for a Production Technician to join our close-knit engineering team based in Wirksworth. Reporting into the Production Supervisor, the successful Technician will be given full training in the assembly and testing of our extensive range of generators from 3kVA to 500kVA. 

Role Responsibility

  • Undertake the assembly of the company's range of generators, from 3kVA to 500kVA
  • Testing and fault diagnosis of generators and alternators
  • Identify and diagnose faults in a efficient and methodical way
  • Servicing and repair of generators at HGI's premises
  • Servicing and repair of generators offsite when required
  • Assisting with new product development programmes
  • Comply with all Health, Safety and Quality policies and procedures
  • Follow HGI's manufacturing principles, continuous improvement processes and problem-solving methods within the area
  • Attend and participate meetings and training sessions that may be necessary in the performance of your duties

The Ideal Candidate

Skills/Qualifications Required

  • Mechanical Engineering Qualification (desirable not essential)
  • 17th/18th Edition trained (desirable not essential)
  • Strong Mechanical and Electrical Skills
  • A good understanding of Mechanical and Electrical fault finding
  • Forklift Licence (desirable)
  • Driving Licence (desirable)
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety procedures
  • Computer Literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook/Data Bases
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Team player with good work ethics
