Product Manager - Transformers

Job Introduction

A great opportunity has arisen for a Product Manager to join our Marketing and Technology department at BRUSH Transformers. The successful candidate will be accountable for the development and execution of the Transformer product and services portfolio planning throughout the product lifecycle, whilst ensuring strategic alignment to business goals, objectives, and customer satisfaction.

Role Responsibility

  • Development of strategic vision, product and technology roadmap for Transformer product and services portfolio.
  • Development and implementation of lifecycle strategy for the Transformer products and services portfolio.
  • Customer engagement, development of relationships (existing and new customers), collection of VOC and translation of the impact and opportunities to Transformer product and services portfolio.
  • Development and updating of market and competitive positioning including competitive landscape within relevant segments, leveraging insights to inform on product opportunities, portfolio gaps and product positioning.
  • Development and updating of technical and commercial value proposition, including reviewing on cost of ownership, service quality and customer value perception.
  • Supporting Engineering and R&D in defining product attributes/design specifications by applying Electrical/Mechanical engineering knowledge, Value Engineering, Continuous Cost Improvement initiatives including Make/Buy-decisions.
  • Ensuring that Intellectual Property (IP) opportunities are defined and reviewed by scanning existing portfolio and critically reviewing IP aspects at the onset of new development programs or staged NPI’s.
  • Development of pricing strategies for defined product and services subject to application and/or geographic location in conjunction with Finance and Sales.
  • Lead new product introductions for Transformer products and services.
  • Development and publication of technical and commercial (features/benefits etc.) product documentation, product newsletters and service bulletins in conjunction with Engineering, Field Service and Sales.
  • Responsible for the development of mid- and long-term product and service-based strategies.
  • External engagement with Tertiary Institutions, Industry Bodies and Media (as relevant) to promote Brush profile and awareness.
  • Planning & execution of roadshows and exhibitions in conjunction with Group marketing.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have 6-8 year’s experience as a Product Manager or Product Marketing Manager within a medium to large enterprise in the Power Generation, Transmission & Distribution or Transportation (Rail) segment. To succeed in this role the candidate will have a strong understanding of Transformer technologies within the power generation, transmission, and distributed energy segments. You will also have the proven ability to complete projects along with the experience in the development of a technical and commercial value proposition for products and services.
