Job Introduction

Brush Transformers Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design, prepare and complete documentation packages including drawings in 3D CAD for Power Transformers. The successful candidate will deliver proactive support to the activities of the Transformer Engineering Department whilst focussing on the delivery of the Engineering strategic goals. You will also develop effective working relationship with customers, both internal and external at all times whilst representing the engineering team and company.

Role Responsibility

• Prepare mechanical design of Transformers on time in 3D CAD like Autodesk Inventor CAD packages for up to 132kV 100MVA.
• Prepare Drawings designed under the direction of Team leader as per project specifications and Electrical design. Such drawings might include but are not limited to: Tank & Cover, Yoke clamps, Transformer assembly, General assembly drawing.
• Responsible and accountable for the accuracy of work produced.
• Implement special engineering projects related to design improvements, cost reductions, new materials, new components, or new design techniques.
• Must be able to multi-task several projects and prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
• Accuracy and detail with project development and coordination.
• Liaise with existing suppliers regarding standard product/component.
• Assist production wherever is required.
• Provide technical assistance to other design engineers, drafters, and technical staff.
• Evaluate customer requirements and integrate requirements into the production schedule.
• Must be able to systematically maintain engineering records and archives.
• Should be a “self-starter” (show initiative) and follow tasks through to completion independently.
• Share the technical knowledge and experience to other colleagues.   

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have expert knowledge and experience in CA2 2D and 3D engineering drawings. You will also have experience of using Autodesk Inventor design application for 3D mechanical designs. You will have strong previous experience of working  as a Mechanical Design Engineer in a Power Transformer industry.
