Key Accounts Team Leader (Utility)

Job Introduction

A great opportunity has arisen for a Key Accounts Team Leader to further develop the relationships and grow the business with Brush key utility customers. The successful candidate will understand the general regulatory landscape and regulatory metrics and be able to advise the business on this. You will also have a strong understanding on key account customers regulatory business drivers, sales strategies and the ongoing process of product innovation and development to meet existing and new market requirements. You will own the relationship with your accounts leading all efforts aimed at enhancing your customers satisfaction.

Role Responsibility

  • To achieve or exceed orders, at Budget contribution margins, agreed in the annual financial Budget/PDR across your designated area of responsibility.
  • To ensure development, execution, and maintenance of the sales strategies for the required key accounts.
  • To keep a register of available frameworks and incumbent suppliers for the Brush power Distribution portfolio including start and end dates and set advance winning strategies prior to any ITT.
  • To maintain and further develop the current LTAs and frame agreements the company has with your Key Accounts.
  • To monitor and enhance Key Accounts’ customer satisfaction: this will involve direct actions as well as coordinating the efforts of the rest of the company, including Project Management, Engineering, Tendering and Quality Assurance.
  • To develop and implement, with Marketing the business strategy for the Brush Switchgear and Transformer product lines including service.
  • To manage the sales resource and systems to maximise sales of all the company products across the Key Accounts.
  • To work with the Brush Group Marketing & Technical teams to ensure that product and service developments are proposed which are market focussed, achievable and will yield the required improvements in competitive advantage.
  • To ensure key account campaign plans detail the capture of new business, increase in market share and the retention of key customers.
  • To develop relationships with senior executives at key customers UK-wide to maximise business opportunities with them. This will involve travel to customers both on your own and with your sales team as appropriate.
  • To ensure the company presents itself in a professional and satisfactory manner through its external communication channels.
  • To participate when called on in the monthly order-intake and SOP Exec reviews on request.
  • Maintain product price intelligence for the company products and ensure they are updated regularly. These are to be used as the basis for determining selling prices for the company Switchgear and Transformer products.
  • To monitor the regulatory landscape and key account business plans and provide strategic direction to the Brush Power Distribution business on how the business best positions itself tactically to maximise its potential over the regulatory cycle.
  • Review your and your team’s sales performance, meet and exceed targets.
  • Ensure accurate monthly forecast reports for your key accounts.
  • Ensure the pipeline of opportunities is sufficient to meet the quarterly and annual orders target.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 6-8 years experience in the Power Distribution sector with at least 5 years management experience. To succeed in this role, you will have strong success in coaching and managing an exceptional sales team. You will also have an extensive track record of new business sales including presentation and negotiation within the industry.
