HSE Officer

Job Introduction

An Opportunity has arisen for an experienced HS & E Officer within a global company.

The company is growing year on year as they work towards their five-year transformational plan. They have a great reputation in the industry and are at the forefront of the market within technology.

Formal HSE related qualifications are essential for this role as well as proven experience in a Health & Safety position preferably within a manufacturing environment.

This would suit someone looking for a varied and rewarding role. Proactively supporting the site leadership team with HSE processes, delivery and implementing the HSE Strategy.

Role Responsibility

  • Implementation and maintenance of procedures and systems to meet the requirements of ISO 14001 and OHSAS18001 (as well as supporting the transition to ISO 45001)
  • Monitor and review Health Safety and Environmental legislation.
  • Coordination of H&S Committee Monthly Meeting
  • Empowerment to intervene with any non-compliance.
  • Conduct internal and external audits, regarding Health Safety and Environment ensuring timely completion of CAPA’s.
  • Ensure regulatory requirements such as COSHH, RIDDOR and fire plans are met.
  • Assessment of training requirements and provision of training to site employees regarding Health Safety and the Environment, including toolbox talks.
  • Collection of weekly and monthly KPI information.
  • Promoting positive H&S culture within the Company and developing Environmental and H&S policies.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Formal training - NEBOSH/IOSH/CIEH. Exposure of BS EN ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
  • Knowledge of H&S and Environmental Legislation.
  • Knowledge of implementing any physical requirements to meet legislation
  • Experience of working with a Health, Safety & Environment management system
  • Experience in project management and project leadership, well developed planning skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • To have the desire for improving knowledge of, and developing the manufacturing processes within the company
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to influence both individual and group levels across the business
  • Self-motivated with positive attitude to meet deadlines and work schedules
  • Experience of working with a Health, Safety & Environment management system
  • Quality experience desirable
