Group Accountant & Treasury Manager

Job Introduction

We are currently seeking a Group Accountant and Treasury Manager to join our Finance department at BRUSH. The successful candidate will ensure accurate and timely reporting for management and statutory requirements. You will also be responsible for Group consolidation, reporting integration of acquisitions, Group treasury activities, as well as liaising with audit and tax.  

Please note that this position can be based in any of our UK offices based in the following locations:

  • Leicestershire (Ashby-de-la-Zouch or Loughborough)
  • South Wales (Blackwood)
  • Cambridgeshire (Eaton Socon)

Role Responsibility

  • Responsibility of all BRUSH Group internal and external financial reporting.
  • Responsibility for BRUSH Group consolidated statutory filing and managing external audit process to ensure the deadlines are met.
  • Review of subsidiary statutory filings to ensure consistency, accuracy and compliance with required disclosures.
  • Develop finance / reporting integration plan for any future acquisitions.
  • Responsibility for managing month-end reporting in line with group requirements for any new acquisitions.
  • Work with the local Finance team to ensure that local level and group level reporting requirements are integrated, with emphasis on streamlining the local processes.
  • Support the Group Technical Controller in building a Group accounting manual, and ensure all policies are appropriately followed.
  • Work with the Group Tax Director to support the business in tax reporting requirements, in particular relating to UK VAT and CIT groups.
  • Supervise the application of the Group’s hedging strategy and ensure appropriate process and controls are in place.
  • Monitor the utilisation of the Group’s credit lines (in particular related to bonds).
  • Maintain appropriate communication with bankers around operational banking topics (eg bank account opening/closing); attend quarterly meetings with banks together with Group CFO.
  • Manage intercompany loan balances to ensure individual entities have required funding levels.
  • Provide cover for the Head of UK Shared Service as required (during ERP implementation – Statutory accounts, month end close, audit).
  • Perform detailed audit reviews across all sites as required.

The Ideal Candidate

Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant with a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience.
  • Previous experience of a multi-site / multi-product environment.

Skills & Experience: 

  • Experience preparation of statutory accounts.
  • Confident when dealing with external parties such as Auditors.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills, and strong eye for detail.
