Finance Director

Job Introduction

Supporting the Engineering Solutions MD to achieve ambitious growth targets following recent acquisitions and organisational changes.

 

Reporting to the BRUSH CFHRO, the role will act as a key finance leader in the business, providing oversight and guidance for the overall performance of the Engineering Solutions business.

Leading the annual budgeting, forecasting cycles, capital appraisal and management, as well as financial modelling of longer-term strategic plans and scenarios as the business pursues its growth strategy. Drive profitability of the business through accurate and detailed reporting.

Together with the technical skillsets, we are looking for candidate who has a strong business acumen, excellent organisational skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels throughout the organisation.

Role Responsibility

  • To understand the business.
  • Reporting of the overall financial performance including KPIs, variance analysis, insight and commentary.
  • Lead monthly financial closing and ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Preparing the monthly reporting pack and commentary for financial performance.
  • Working closely with the Commercial teams providing commercial decision support.
  • Leading and overseeing the budgeting and forecasting cycles.
  • Leading and overseeing business partnering with Operations teams, delivering their budgets and forecasting cycles and supporting commercial decision making.
  • Actively review and drive profitability of all business lines, identifying key cost drivers and offering cost reduction solutions.
  • Drive detailed operational cash flow forecasting and proactive management with the management team.
  • Providing high level analysis support and scenario planning to the Engineering Solutions MD.
  • Support in the evolution of the brand 3/5 year strategic plans, including the financial modelling.
  • Coaching and development of the wider finance team to ensure we have a highly skilled, fulfilled team with a pipeline of finance talent for the future.
  • Foster and build relationships across BRUSH group to understand risks and opportunities that the business is facing.
  • Lead due diligence and finance integration on any future Engineering Solutions acquisitions.
  • Responsibility for Engineering Solutions procurement.

The Ideal Candidate

Qualifications

  • CIMA, ACA, ACCA (or equivalent) qualified

Skills

  • Communicates financial information and concepts in a clear, precise, thorough manner to meet the needs of both finance and non-finance audiences.
  • Budget / Forecasting consolidations
  • Analytical - organizing information and manipulates data, develops reporting to identify/explain trends, problems, and mitigating actions.
  • Presence and confidence to interact with stakeholders at all levels throughout the organisation. Ability to leverage influence across teams and cultures.
  • Advanced Excel
  • Remains calm under pressure and filters that pressure to positively affect individual performance
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously / strong organisational skills

Experience

  • Experience in project environment.
  • Previous experience at senior finance level
  • 5-10 years post qualification
  • Financial Modelling
