Job Introduction

To deliver expert technical knowledge to the Brush Transformers Value Stream on electrical designs, ensuring that the capability and function of the transformer product exceeds customer requirements.

To be part of a team of engineers to improve the electrical design for power transformers by applying leading edge engineering methods and solutions both internally and externally.

To provide tender and contract transformer designs and use analysis tools to improve the product.

Role Responsibility

• Produce Electrical Design of Transformer and Reactor up to 132kV Transformers as per Scope of Work.
• Produce Bill of material and upload it on PDM system
• Check team mate’s design and manufacturing documents/specifications complying customer requirement.
• Check and approve supplier offers and drawings.
• Ensure that all designs and applied technology are compliant with the relevant technical, safety and environmental standards, codes of practice etc.
• Analysis of test results and feedback into database for future use and reference.
• Working with the customer to achieve the required specifications
• Develop best practice for Transformers designs and process within the organisation
• Actively work on continues improvement of Transformer design and optimisation
• Working with the customer to achieve the required specifications
• The requirement to work cross functionally to develop best practice for Transformers designs
• Understanding of engineering processes, Quality systems and awareness of HSE requirement
• Produce Technical details for Electrical design for preparation of O&M Manual
• Produce Tender Electrical design to aid Tender department for auto creation of cost for new build and services for Transformer and reactor.
• Produce Technical Datasheet, Compliance document  to Tendering department.
• Produce required technical document to support sales.
• Check and review scope of work are technically correct before it is being released on the system.
• Support Quality on supplier development and inspection.
• Support Purchasing department and assign Planner code to parts and create list of parts to help purchasing department to order items based on material type with a controlled document.  

The Ideal Candidate

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical. 

Skills

• Ability to perform manual calculations and use design software to produce the necessary transformer and reactor design.
• FEMM, Electro magnetics

Knowledge

• Electrical Design of Power Transformer and Reactor for 132kV and 120MVA

  Experience

• Must have 10 years of Transformer Electrical design experience in OEM
