Commissioning Engineer - Switchgear

Job Introduction

Please note this is a home based role and can located anywhere in the UK. 

Due to our growing and developing plans in the MV sector, we have new opportunities for an experienced 11kV and 33kV Switchgear Commissioning Engineer to join our business in a field-based role as part of a team working across the UK. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a team responsible for the delivery of maintenance, protection, upgrades, fault finding and infrastructure Switchgear projects. The role will require travel and working away, the right person should be confident undertaking the lead role at site and explaining to clients the tests being carried out and the results produced.

Role Responsibility

In this role you will undertake full Commissioning duties of BRUSH Switchgear new and Heritage products.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience

You'll be an experienced Commissioning Engineer, with extensive experience on a diverse range of MV/HV Switchgear systems.

As an Engineer you will carry both legal and Company responsibility for ensuring the health and safety of those directly or indirectly under your control. You will be Passionate about safety, you will promote this throughout your team and to all Contractors on site, comfortably challenging any unsafe behaviours or attitudes ensuring safe systems of work under our procedures and operational safety rules.

The Ideal Candidate

Min HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

Significant MV/HV experience on site in the UK

Switchgear and/or DNO experience with installation and commissioning

Good level of HSE awareness

Good planner and problem solver

Flexible worker, working away from home is required

Good communicator as dealing with client at site on a regular basis

Professional / Good Work Ethic / Ambassador for company

Good IT skills required (Word, Excel etc)
