Biodiversity Internship

Job Introduction

An initial 12-week Summer Biodiversity Internship Programe (SBIP) to provide the opportunity for individuals to gain valuable experience whilst complementing their studies and personal and professional growth.

This could lead to various career pathways across the Energy Industry and kick start the individual’s future! With them being able to work on challenging and varied activities that really matter and will make a difference.

Role Responsibility

Based in the Engineering Solutions vertical:

  • Development of an overview of biodiversity requirements for our existing project portfolio and.
  • Mapping the DNOs' biodiversity focus areas and activities through web research and stakeholder interviews.
  • Engagement with customers and other key stakeholders to develop an understanding of current and future biodiversity requirements.
  • Development of biodiversity standards and scope write-ups for tenders.
  • Development and management of the biodiversity pilot in Loughborough and evaluation of the potential for other BRUSH sites.
  • Engagement with Eta Project and Rybka to evaluate further biodiversity opportunities.
  • Support of our wider ESG activities.

The Ideal Candidate

Qualifications

A degree in either Ecology, Biodiversity and/or Sustainability

Requirement: You will be someone with a genuine interest in biodiversity and the environment and be passionate about creating a better place for people and wildlife.

Skills

The following skills are required:

  • Being able to work with teams and drive initiatives.
  • Data sampling, analysis and visualization.
  • Preparation of executive presentation.

We are looking for applicants with a variety of skills and behaviours, and willingness to develop within new areas. and can be flexible in your approach and have determination to make positive change happen.

Experience

The following experience is required:

  • Demonstratable experience of being able to work with teams and drive initiatives
  • Experience in data sampling, analysis and visualization.

Experience in the preparation of reports and presentations.
