Applications Engineer

Job Introduction

Are you an Applications Engineer looking to join an innovative and industry leading manufacturing company where you will play a key role within the business?

Role Responsibility

This would suit someone from a background in Applications Engineering looking for a varied and rewarding role.

The Role:

  • To determine the appropriate ratings and performance requirements from Tendering Specification and check the equipment being supplied complies with the customers switchgear specifications
  • To ensure the operational and performance requirements of the customers application (e.g. Current, Voltage and fault ratings, etc.) are complied with.
  • To develop detailed Engineering Specifications
  • The design of relay protection and substation control schemes
  • To design and produce internal software schemes where required to enable the overall scheme to function and provide technical assistance to Test Department when required.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified to a degree level in an engineering discipline, preferably first degree or possessing appropriate industry experience with HNC Electrical/Electronic background.
  • Demonstrate strong project management skills
  • Use of AutoCAD or other CAD systems would be an advantage but not essential.
  • A good understanding of fundamental Mechanical and Electrical principles
  • An understanding of the basic functional and testing requirements of switchgear standards.
  • Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding and application of lean Six Sigma tools, principles and applications.
  • Experience of dealing with customers and suppliers
  • Looking for a Monday to Friday role within an industry leader
