This position is generally responsible for providing electrical and winding repair services to customers operating a wide range of original equipment, which includes:  generators, motors and ancillary systems.  Desired familiarity with the following:  BRUSH BDAX 6, BDAX 7, BDAX 8, BDAX 9, GE LM6000, 7FH2, 6A2, 6A3, 6A6, 6FA, 7A3, 7A6, 9A3, 9A5, 324, in addition to various Westinghouse, Siemens, ALSTOM, and other OEM generator frames/models.  Experience with air, hydrogen, and liquid cooled generators in 2 and 4 pole configurations desirable. Experience with generator high voltage testing such as PI, DC Leakage, and Hipot. Experience with generator rotor and stator robotic test equipment such as RoGIS, MAGIC, and MAGIC Jr. a plus. 

Position Summary:  The Temp Accountant’s position involves invoicing, comparing and analyzing costs to estimates, cost of sales, product development, costing Temps, and maintaining records of costs to activities.  A Temp Accountant’s job may also include monitoring WIP inventory, reporting budget costs to production costs, and comparing actual costs to estimations.

Role Responsibility

Essential Duties and Responsibilities including the following:

  • Review Temp costs to determine accurate invoicing amounts against purchase orders and/or shop orders.
  • Determine projected costs versus actual costs.
  • Prepare customer invoices based on work performed and contracted amount.
  • Communicate with customers regarding invoice discrepancies and/or questions.
  • Communicate effectively with various departments to obtain necessary information to prepare invoices.
  • Ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies in an acceptable manner to both customer and Brush Aftermarket.
  • Ability to question or investigate proposed and/or actual costs throughout and up to the completion of a Project.
  • Participate in the monthly closing activities of the company including general ledger entries, reconciling sub-ledgers and cash accounts, and reviewing the general ledger in preparation for financial statement reporting.
  • Comply with weekly, monthly, half year, and yearly reporting requirements ensuring quality, consistency, and timeliness.
  • Manage weekly orders and sales and track changes to the backlog for reporting to management.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  • Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
  • Daily recording of cash receipts including posting transactions to AR journal and seeking resolution of any discrepancies.
  • Import financial reports and reconcile data into the OneStream system for consolidation by Brush Group.
  • Tracking of Fixed Assets from Capital Expense request, recording cost to the capital project, closing the project, and calculating depreciation.
  • Complete accounting activities for Brush Americas subsidiary and parent company.
  • Manage vendor payments via credit card.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and assignment flexibility.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university or three years’ experience in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
